Most pizza places in Rome will have several (or at least two) vegan-friendly pizzas ready to eat. Some will even add a few vegetables. The pizza is bought by weight, so you can have exactly the portion size you want.
NOTE: it doesn't hurt to ask about cheese, but keep in mind some places don't consider Parmesan "cheese" (from a digestive standpoint), so be sure to mention that one by name.

Watch out if you take a taxi cab in Rome. I had a couple who were unscrupulous in their determination to make some cash. I've been told by an ex resident of Rome that this is normal in there.

the setting itself was very nice, warm colors with a modern-yet-homey feel. the food was...different for me. as ritaka said, it seemed sort of 'haute cuisine'. simple ingredients with an extravagant, elegant presentation. somehow lacked flavor. also quite pricey
