Vistor Notes:
Subject: 'Check out Finnish grocery stores!'
Posted by your_ad_here on: Friday, February 03, 2012 at 05:50 PM PST

Restaurant options for vegans can sometimes be limited in Finland particularly if you\'re not in a major city. However, Finnish grocery stores are fantastic! I had a lot of luck at the \'K\' groceries (especially the K-citymarkets). This site contains listings of what common products are vegan (it\'s in Finnish but google translate gets the job done and they have pictures for a lot of products):
www.vegaanituotteet.net/
Good brands to check out:
Yosa Oat Yogurt (this is a Finnish brand I don\'t think is sold outside of Finland so try it while you\'re there, it\'s fantastic)
Alpro Soya (plenty of yogurt, soy milk, etc etc)
Oatly (they make great oat milk and oat milk ice cream)
Tofuline (this is a soy ice cream made by Ingman, they sell large tubs of it but also single serve ice cream cones/bars/mini tubs that are available at some convenience stores)
GoGreen (they make some oat cream and \'vispi\' a kinda whipped cream type thing)
Cheezly (the fabled Cheezly that us North Americans have heard rumours about is available in Finland)
Keiju (makes some vegan margarines as well as delicious and soy yogurt)
Also most Finnish rye bread should be vegan as well. :)
All these products seemed pretty widely available even outside of major cities but I didn\'t go north of Tampere so I don\'t know if all of Finland has this great a selection of vegan products.
