This is small vegetarian cafe, which is situated in a lavish Grade II listed building in Union Street Ryde. The menu is limited, serving only snack type food, but decidedly vegetarian/vegan with some possible gluten free options. The future will include wines & beers. Cafe area has muralled walls and ceiling depicting the inside of a celestial globe, curioser and currioser, the celestial artwork is all based on Alice and her famous trip through Wonderland. A giant planetarium is located in the ceiling. The rear of the building is a small museum devoted to the life and work of Donald McGill, King of the Saucy Seaside Postcard. Just 2.5 hours away from London Waterloo, you can get a train ticket which includes the ferry. The Hover Craft and Fast boat service also offer 2 for 1 deals on their websites. The cafe and museum will close for periods when out of season, so please check both websites if you should decide to visit. Reported open to HappyCow, June 2011. Cash only. Open daily 10.00-17.00. Sun may be shorter hours. Please ring if intending to visit out of season.
