This city is on the south-east coast of the island. It is a laid-back place, far away from the hustle and bustle of Taipei. The nearest big city is Kaoshiung, a 3 hour train or car ride away. There are some great beaches nearby, and the mountains are also close and great for hiking and exploring. For a good soak in a hot spring, head to the nearby hot spring town of jiben.
