note
Singapore is definitely one of the most vegetarian friendly cities in the world. There are so many vegetarian restaurants and hawker stands that you hardly even have to seek out vegetarian food. As there are a lot of Indians (especially South Indians) in Singapore, you naturally find a lot of Indian restaurants, but even more notable is the Singaporean version of Chinese food, which is very hot (sometimes with chiles used as vegetables!) and with a wide variety of ingredients. Freshly-squeezed tropical fruit juices (and fresh fruits--including some very rarely found in the US) are ubiquitous.
