Small cafe with a relaxed atmosphere run by an elderly Japanese hippie. Lunch sets are brown rice with miso soup and Japanese vegetable dishes for around 900yen, or brown rice with chickpea curry for around 850yen. Dinner is similar but slightly higher prices. Offers a variety of tea and some vegan desserts, and can prepare take-out vegan bento with at least one day's notice. Directions: take exit 1 from Higashi Betsuin subway station on the Miejo line, walk straight for a short distance, about 2 buildings, and it's on the 2nd floor of a building on your left - look for a green sign. Name in Japanese: 玄米菜食＆カフェ バオバブ. Address in Japanese: NagoyaNaka Ward Oicho ３−２０ 山下ビル2階. Open Mon-Sat 11am-8pm (lunch til 2pm), closed Sun.
