The restaurant is inside the Ryoanji Temple area, in the Seigenin building (a minor temple attached to the main temple and situated by the Kyoyoike pond- a 1000-year-old Koi pond). Directions: From Kawaramachi or Shijo Teramachi, go west, then turn south on Teramachi, past Fujii Daimuru department store on your right, past the AM/PM convenience store and Nobunaga book store; almost immediately next to the bookstore (also on your right) you will find a long, narrow, alley-like entrance, with Mikoan at the very end. Address in Japanese: 京都府京都市下京区寺町通四条下ル中之町570. Open Mon-Fri 5-11pm, and opens earlier on weekends.

All-you-can-eat buffet for around 2000 yen includes tea but not desserts. Directions: Take a taxi. Or take subway to Karasuma-Oike, Walk West on Oike Dori. Turn North (right) into the 3rd alley, called Koromonnotana Dori. If you get to the AM/PM you have gone too far. You know you are on the correct alley going north off Oike Dori if there is a French bakery on the left hand side after a 100 meters. There is kind of a patio space. Obanzi is on the right hand side (east) before you intersect another alley. It will have a wooden sign board. There might be a big white van parked in front of it. It is easy to miss. There are also 2 pop machines outside of it. Address in Japanese: 京都府京都市中京区衣棚通御池上る下妙覚寺町199.
