Hi, I'm Dr. Bill, have been in Xiamen (Amoy) since 1988, and written many books such as Amoy Magic--Guide to Xiamen, Discover Gulangyu, Fujian Adventure , Mystic Quanzhou, etc. For awesome vegetarian food try Nanputuo temple just outside the Xiamen University gate. They're famous for their cuisine (Deng Xiaoping took over 50 pounds of their taro back to Beijing).
